This song was born North West China’s Yan’an in the 1930s. The music was composed by Liu Chi, the author of the lyrics unknown. This version, based on the original score found by Liu Chi’s son Liu Xinxin, who edited and arranged it on the basis of the original score. Xinxin also translated it into English and arranged it to suit the melody.
