--Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.  In order to pay tribute to the international friends who have made contributions to the Chinese people's liberation and the World Anti-Fascist War, the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (ICCIC-Gung Ho) held a series of commemorative activities with the theme of "Side-by-Side--International Friends in the World Anti-Fascist War" from August 27th to 29th.

On August 27th, a warm welcome dinner was held at the Beijing Zhong'an Hotel—the Site for Education in Internationalism of the ICCIC-Gung Ho and the place where Edgar Snow and Helen Snow wrote Red Star Over China. 

On August 28th, ICCIC Beijing Members and friends visited Babaoshan Revolutionary Martyr's Cemetery where dozens of foreign friends are buried.

 On the afternoon of August 28th, the participator visited the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On August 29th, the photo exhibition themed "Side-by-Side – International Friends in the World Anti-Fascist War" and the symposium commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War were held at Yangtai Mountain. The events were guided by the Beijing Haidian District People's Government, and hosted by the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (ICCIC-Gung Ho), the Beijing Haidian District People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Beijing Haidian District New Era Social Service Promotion and Development Association.
 
Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Zhang Ge, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Haidian District Committee, attended the symposium and delivered speeches. Yue Li, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Haidian District Committee and Executive Vice District Governor of Haidian District, was present at the meeting. Michael Crook, Chairman of ICCIC, and Yin Qiang, President of the Beijing Haidian District New Era Social Service Promotion and Development Association, co-chaired the symposium. Yu Lin, Legal Representative and Vice Chairman of ICCIC, and Vice-Chair David Evans, Xu Fenghua, Li Zhiming, also attended the meeting.
