| ICCIC Gung Ho senior officers meet with the President and Secretary General of ICA |

On February 19, 2014, a party of four members of the ICCIC leadership met with Pauline Green , President of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and Charles Gould, Secretary-General of the ICA, who are in Beijing to attend an ICA board meeting.
Zhang Xiaoshan, former Vice Chair of ICCIC and member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences briefed the guests on the history of ICCIC and its motto - “Work and Work Together”. He also introduced the current domestic development of the cooperatives in China and the current government policy. Yuan Peng, Legal Representative of ICCIC briefed the guests from ICA that ICCIC have adhered to the seven principles of ICA since its inception and had spread the idea of cooperation, services, and cooperative organizations to promote the cooperative DLA assessment tools and other major international practices and challengers faced by the ICCIC. Li Zhiming,, Vice Chair of ICCIC and Benson Chen, Liaison of ICCIC introduced coop style elderly and long term care projects and ICCIC goals of strengthen international ties and promote exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign cooperatives . President Green and Secretary-General Gould of ICA expressed appreciation for the work and achievements carried out by the ICCIC members. They clearly expressed that ICA will work with ICCIC to carry out international exchanges to facilitate cooperative and build a service platform. Meanwhile they also introduce some new trends in the development of US agricultural cooperatives, British cooperative bank and the Italy social cooperatives. |
